At Witney Smile Clinic, we perform mouth cancer screenings as part of our commitment to preventive dental care.
We conduct mouth cancer screenings during all routine dental examinations to help reduce the impact of oral cancer through early identification. During your regular check-up, we’ll examine your mouth for any red patches, white spots, swellings, or unusual changes.
If we discover anything concerning, we’ll arrange a follow-up appointment or refer you to a specialist. Mouth cancer affects thousands of people in the UK each year, but thanks to early identification through screenings like these, survival rates are significantly higher.
As mentioned, we’ll inspect the mouth for white or red patches, swellings, and other irregularities. Additional symptoms to watch for include a bleeding ulcer that doesn’t heal, ongoing pain or difficulty swallowing, and persistent lumps and growths. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, please contact us immediately.
